About MiqatLive

MiqatLive is a free Islamic website that tells you when to pray and which way to face, for every city, with the method behind every number.

Why we built it

Correct times, shown openly

Prayer-time websites often disagree by several minutes and rarely say why. MiqatLive calculates every time with our own engine, shows the method, angles and Asr school on the page, and has each country's settings checked by a reviewer. If your masjid uses something different, you can see the difference and why.

How we work

Five principles

  1. 1

    The method is always visible

Every page names its calculation method, Fajr and Isha angles and Asr school.

  2. 2

    Our own engine

Times are calculated on our servers with the open-source adhan library and checked against reference tables. No live third-party feed.

  3. 3

    Reviewed by people

Country settings and Ramadan and Eid announcements are approved by a reviewer before they go live.

  4. 4

    Private by design

No account. Your location stays in your browser, and we never redirect you because of where you are.

  5. 5

    Nothing half-finished

A section appears on MiqatLive only when it is complete, sourced and reviewed.

  6. See the maths

Every step of the Qibla calculation, with an interactive globe.

Review and corrections

Who checks MiqatLive

Each country's prayer-time settings are reviewed before launch. When you report a time that differs from your masjid, a reviewer checks the calculation and the local practice. Corrections are listed with their date.

Where we are going

Country by country

We start with Pakistan in English and Urdu, then add countries in waves, each with its own reviewed settings and language. Quran, hadith, duas and tools for masjids are planned and will appear here when they are ready.
