What we store on your device
Cookies and similar storage (such as your browser's local storage) are small pieces of data a website keeps in your browser. We use only the ones in this table. Because they are strictly necessary or are set when you choose a city or language yourself, we do not need a cookie banner. If we ever add anything else, we will ask for your consent first.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
miqat.qibla.city | MiqatLive | Remembers the city you saved on the Qibla page (the city and its position, never your own coordinates) | Local storage, preference | Until you remove it or clear your browser data |
miqat.where | MiqatLive | Keeps the city estimated from your IP address for this visit, so other pages do not ask again (the city and country, never the IP address) | Session storage, strictly necessary | Until you close the tab |
miqat_lang | MiqatLive | Remembers the language you chose (EN or اردو) | Cookie, preference | 12 months |
miqat.langHint | MiqatLive | Remembers on which kinds of pages you closed the suggestion to open a page in your language | Local storage, preference | Until you clear your browser data |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Tells people from bots to protect the site from abuse | Cookie, strictly necessary | 30 minutes |
cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Set only if a security check is shown, so you are not checked again | Cookie, strictly necessary | [as configured, e.g. 30 minutes] |
What we do not use
- No advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking cookies.
- No cookies that share your activity with other companies.
- No analytics cookies. Visit statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device; your browser only loads its script from
static.cloudflareinsights.com. See the Privacy policy.
Location and compass
Your location and phone compass are not cookies. They are browser permissions you grant for this site. The coordinates stay in your browser; see the Privacy policy.
How to delete or block them
You can remove your saved city at any time on the Qibla page (“Saved on this device · remove”), and remove all MiqatLive data in your browser settings (usually under Privacy › Site data). If you block all cookies, MiqatLive still works; it will just ask for your city again.
