We do not create user profiles, we do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3 · Your location
When you tap “Use my location”, your browser asks for your permission. If you allow it, your coordinates are used by code running in your browser to find your nearest city, calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction, and drive the live compass.
- Your coordinates are not sent to MiqatLive and not stored on our servers.
- We never guess your location from your IP address and never redirect you because of where you are.
- On phones, the live compass reads the motion and orientation sensor only after you allow it, and only while the page is open.
- You can withdraw permission at any time in your browser or phone settings.
4 · What is stored on your device
We store your chosen city and language in your browser so you do not have to set them again. Our CDN may set a short-lived security cookie. We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. Details and durations are in the Cookie policy.
5 · When you contact us or report a time
If you use the contact form or email us, we process your name (optional), email address, the city and prayer you report, and your message. We use them only to answer you and, for time reports, to have a reviewer check the calculation. Corrections are published without your name.
6 · Service providers
We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement:
- Hosting: Contabo GmbH, Germany (servers in Germany).
- Content delivery, DNS and security: Cloudflare, Inc., USA, with data centres worldwide.
- Email delivery for the contact form: Resend, Inc., USA. It receives your name, email address and message to deliver them to us.
- Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics, by Cloudflare, Inc., USA, on the live site only. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Your browser loads one small script from
static.cloudflareinsights.com, which reports the page address, referrer, browser and device type, country and page-load times. Cloudflare processes this for us as our processor and shows us only totals; it does not build profiles or follow you across websites.
Fonts are served from our own servers; your browser does not contact third-party font services when you visit MiqatLive. The only script loaded from another server is the Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon described above.
7 · International transfers
Some providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8 · How long we keep data

9 · Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct or delete it;
- restrict or object to its processing, including processing based on legitimate interest;
- transfer it to you or another service;
- withdraw any consent you gave, with effect for the future.
Write to [email protected]. We answer within one month. If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, you may also complain to your data protection authority.
10 · Children
MiqatLive can be used by everyone without an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 through the contact form. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11 · Security
All pages are served over HTTPS. Access to our servers is limited, protected by keys and logged, and backups are encrypted.
12 · Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our services change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Important changes are announced on the homepage.
